Ted Lasso - Season 1 (Finished 8/31/2022)

Very watchable. Perfect show to watch bundled up on the couch while you are home sick for three days with your brain cooking out of your skull and if you laugh too hard you start coughing up bits of lung. (Ask me how I know.) No major laughs and the plot isn't anything to write home about, but a show about a genuinely kind guy trying to make other people's live a little nicer is a refreshing, pleasant way to spend a few hours. Looking forward to saving season two for the next time I'm laid up.

Moulin Rouge (2001) (Watched 8/25/2022)

Not sure how I managed to go so long without seeing this one. Given the number of other Baz Luhrmann films I've seen, it was basically what I was expecting, although the prominence of the song Nature Boy was a little surprising, if for no other reason than the fact I associate that song with Leonard Nimoy's cover of it, so its presence here felt weird (to me and only me, I'm sure). Overall, poorly aged, full of blatant orientalism, and briming over with missed opportunities to make something that actually had something to say. I guess Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman are both very charming and attractive in it though, so there's that.

"Saban Moon" Pilot (Watched 8/22/2022)

I'm still reeling from the recovery of the lost American Sailor Moon pilot. If I had to chose between the timeline where this was greenlit and the timeline where we get the original, I'm glad we are in the latter, but I would be lying if said I wouldn't have watched the hell out of this as a kid. Even just this pilot I've watched probably a dozen times in the past two weeks, and it's amazing every time.

Bridgerton - Seasons 1&2 (Finished 8/2022)

Wild how there isn't a single likable character on this show. The vibe is fun, but I found myself unable to root for anyone or really care who anyone ended up with or how they got there.

Stranger Things - Season 4 (Finished 8/2022)

It's good, but overly flashy. Stranger Things has always been hit or miss for me, and season 4 overall feels like a miss. Lucas needs better friends.
